Sesame Street has, to my knowledge, never been shown on Icelandic television, so I missed out on ever experiencing that as a child. I am sure I would have loved it. Here the Cookie Monster, one of the recurring and best loved Sesame Street muppets, visits the library:

Chances are you are here because you love reading and don't have the problem this video is about, but hasn't even the most avid reader and book lover come across a book they have to read but don't want to? This video offers one very good solution: Incidentally, for the part beginning around 6:20 - I recommend always using post-it notes, but that's just because I hate untidy books with writing in the margin.

I think we can all agree that the best thing about some books is the cover - especially when it comes to old pulp novels. Here artist Thomas Allen has taken this assertion to its logical conclusion and created art out of the covers:

Alan Rickman has one of those voices that make my knees go weak.  Here he reads Shakespeare's most romantic sonnet:

Taylor Mali reads "Reading Allowed". Not only does this guy have a sense of humour, but he knows how to capture the attention of an audience and the poem is not one of those high-brow odes that only the poet and two other people can understand.

This could have been made even funnier with a less ironic delivery, but its pretty good:

I recently came across this wonderful time-lapse video of book-case reorganisation. It doesn't hurt one bit that I love the music they chose.

The singing may be a bit off at some points and the lyrics a bit stretched in some places, but this video still kicks ass:
