I share this sentiment. I always have books with me. My kids used to call my van "The Bookmobile" because the stacks of books covered the seats.

So do I. I always have a book with me wherever I go. It's the reason why I want to buy a Kindle - to decrease the weight of all the books I carry around when travelling.

I've used a Kindle, I've used a Nook, and I've looked at a SONY Reader in a bookstore (they wouldn't let me touch it). Before you buy anything, check out the Apple iPad. You can use an app to read Kindle files. For long reading sessions, especially if the book has color (like art books), the iPad is the superior device.

The problem with the iPad is that it's backlit, so you can't read it in sunlight.

That backlit problem may disappear with the new iPad due in March. Rumors are that the new iPad will be using the new Qualcomm screen which uses MUCH less power and solves the "reading in sunshine" problem.
